About the Chair

The Chair of Construction and Transportation Informatics (KGPI) operates within the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Maribor. Since its founding in 2000, the Chair has been active in teaching, research, and professional practice at the forefront of engineering informatics — covering both construction and transportation informatics as well as e-learning in engineering.

Construction Informatics

Construction Informatics aims to systematically and consistently address practical and theoretical challenges in civil engineering using methods and tools from computer science and information technology. The discipline bridges engineering practice with cutting-edge computational approaches to improve design, construction and infrastructure management.

Transportation Informatics

Transportation Informatics researches, develops and introduces information technologies in the field of mobility and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). The Chair contributes to the design and deployment of smart mobility solutions that make transport networks safer, more efficient and more sustainable.
